NY RED HOOK — Red Hook's Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee reviewed community input themes for a draft comprehensive plan, with priorities including housing affordability, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and traffic concerns at the Route 9 and 199 intersection. The committee, chaired by Julia Solomon, heard analysis from Eric Pierson of Pattern for Progress on transcribed community input. Themes marked for preservation included open space, farms, small-town character and parks.
The committee planned a second public workshop tentatively scheduled for mid-May, shifting to an expo format for drop-in participation and presentation of draft goals and strategies.
